Remember: Children learn step by step in a process that takes time and patience. They vary a great deal in what holds their interest and in the rate at which they make
progress.

When a child is just beginning to read, he or she tries different
ways to write and spell. Our job as parents is to
encourage our children’s writing so they will enjoy
putting their thoughts and ideas on paper. You may provide
them with spelling help when they ask for it.
